waf.Good Faith : A New Path to Enhancing Performance and Well-being

The repetitive nature of certain movements in skateboarding, such as jumping and landing tricks, can lead to overuse injuries. Recognising the numerous benefits that yoga can bring to skateboarders' physical and mental well-being. Flexibility is a key component of skateboarding, enabling fluid movements and precise execution of tricks. Yoga helps improve flexibility by increasing joint mobility and stretching muscles, allowing skateboarders to perform with greater ease and grace.

Faith Onyesom, a certified yoga teacher with over 5 years of teaching experience 200 hours of practice, She started the yoga company Good Faith, specialising in Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, and Rocket Yoga. Good Faith aims to promote a strong healthy body and mind. This is done by utilising meditation, yoga, and mindfulness techniques (self-empowerment) as well as aromatherapy.

waf.’s collaboration with Good Faith aims at encouraging everyone to practise Yoga. From young to old, beginner to advanced including athletes yoga can help with stability, mobility, strength and flexibility needed to help prevent injury.

To continue the initiative, we have created a Yoga Mat and a Tee to add the series of yoga workshops we currently run which is specifically tailored for skateboarders of all skill levels. These workshops will continue to introduce skateboarders to the fundamentals of yoga, focusing on poses and techniques that directly benefit their skateboarding practice.
